POST GRADUATE STUDIES

Hi! Today I am going to talk about my future again, about a similar topic that the one I wrote last week. When I finish my actual career, I want to keep studying doing a postgraduate degree about food science so I can develop more science skills with the objective of create new aliments.

The thing I would like to study more is learning about the peculiarity of food that in Chile we do not usually eat. For that I would need to go to another country so I could see and learn about the food that they have, maybe a country in Asia like China. They have exotic fruit like Litchi or Pitahaya, that we do not consume it because we do not have the necessary conditions for cultivating it. I would like to go study to the United States or Canada because is those countries they speak English so I would be able to improve my speaking at the same time I learn about aliments.

I have a couple years to figure out what I really want to study after I graduate but the plan I have now is really good. I would also like to do courses about other subjects that do not have relevance for my career, like professional manicure or embroidery, but only to have a fun and have a hobby in my free time.

 

My future

Last week in my blog I told you I am studying food engineering and I hope when I finish studying, I start to work in this area. But there are so many areas where I can choose like investigation, production, conservation control, and packaging. Now I am not sure what area I will choose, but I want to work in a small industry or investigation so I can design new food or make the food that is already designed better.  This will be an indoor job.

I would like to travel in my future job so I can visit other countries and learn more of other cultures and at the same time learn things for my professional life. 

I am not really worried about the salary, but I think I would like to make enough money to survive in this world hahaha.

When I finish the career, I want to do a major or food science so I can complement with my career, this way it will be easier to find a job and I will receive a better pay. I would also like to do a course of vegan food, because more people stop eating meat cause of animal suffering.

Well, I am in my first year of university, so maybe in a couple of years I will change my mind, but for now that is what I what to do in the future.

A little more about me

 

Hi, today I want to tell you a little more about me. Last year it was really stressing out about what I was going to do next year. Everybody wanted to know what career I chose and when they asked me, I always said: “I don’t know but something with chemistry” but they kept asking what my options were. Finally, I start saying that I wanted to study chemistry and pharmacy, and then I started to believe it.

I didn’t prepare for the test you need to apply to university, because I wasn’t sure what I really wanted to do, but when I saw my score I realized that I could apply to University but it wasn’t enough for my “first options”. After thinking I decided to apply to my second option, Food engineering but I was still insecure about it.

Now I am in my second semester, and because of the pandemic it was really boring to be in online classes and I didn’t have de chance to meet my classmates so I don’t have any friends :c . In the academic part I am really stressed out, but I tried to do my best. I hope next year things get better so I can clear my mind about the decision I took about my career.

The best movie

 

When I was 1 month old, my favorite movie premiered, of course at that moment I had’nt seen it. Well the movie that I am talking about it is Shrek. I hope you all love this movie because I think it is a piece of art.

This movie is about an ogre, that wants to get back his swamp, for that he must rescue Fiona, a princess that in the nights transforms into an ogre but tries to hide it.  

I will start with the music, this movie has a really good soundtrack, and every song is perfect for the moment when it’s played, the best example is All stars, in the beginning of the movie.

Now I want to talk about Fiona, it is the first movie where a princess is not like every princess (delicate, submissive, perfect), she is a strong woman. We need more princess like her so little girls can want to be like her, brave. You can see this in the scene when she fights with Hood and his men.

This is the type of movie everybody needs to watch. The best things is that there are 3 more movies of Shrek that are also amazing.

My favorite concert

Mon Laferte is one of my favorite singers, in September of 2019 I had the opportunity to go to one of her concerts for the second time. The concert was in Movistar arena, a place where concerts usually take place in Santiago.  Norma Monserrat Bustamante Laferte is a Chilean singer, but she lives in Mexico, she writes her own songs and has an exhibition with her artwork. The most popular song she has is “Tu tanta falta de querer”

When the show started, everyone was screaming and crying. All the people were so excited and happy. It was one of the best moments of my life I felt amazing, especially when she sang “Por qué me fui a enamorar de ti”, my favorite song. In my opinion the best part of de concert was when Mon Laferte threw herself into the public, here is a photo that I took.

This was my favorite concert; I would love to see her again and hear all the songs I like and enjoy.

CHICAGO

 

In my 19 years of life I have left my country (Chile) a few times, but I would love to travel to a lot of places in the world, like France or Mexico and learn about their culture. However, I must tell you! I would love to go to United States specially to Chicago. Why Chicago? Well I have plenty of reasons why!

The first one is the food. They have a very particular type of pizza, called deep dish pizza. Like the name said is more deep than normal pizza so it looks like a cake and has more space for cheese. Here is a picture of this pizza, I think it looks very delicious.

Something that got my attention of this place is that the city has water taxis, they are boats that go on the lake and take you to popular places. One of these places is Navy Pier where I would like to ride the centennial wheel, so I can see lake Michigan from the heights.

For now, I would just like to visit this city, but maybe if I really love it I would want to stay forever.😱😱
